These are closely linkt to each other and are involved in close collaboration and numerous interdisciplinary research projects within the University (Cluster of Excellence, Collaborative Research Centers, Graduate Schools) and with other national and internationals institutions (GRF Research Programs, EU, FMER, Volkswagenstiftung, GAES, Humboldt-Stiftung, Bavarian Research Program, etc.). Consequently, the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy creates the molecular bridge between the Schools of Medicine and Engineering. <br/><br/> The research at the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy has received top rankings not only within Germany but also at the international level. The most recent independent study coordinated by the German Science Council rates the Chemistry in Erlangen as "world class".
