Every year the Inorganic Reaction Mechanism Group in cooperation with one of the European universities invites scientists from all over the world to a conference dedicated to studies on mechanistic aspects of inorganic reactions. In January 2010 the 39th meeting was organised by the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, in collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry, London.

The meeting focused on the study of inorganic and bioinorganic reaction mechanisms. Advances in kinetic instrumentation and experimental procedures for the study of reaction intermediates, as well as the development of powerful computational procedures, facilitate a more comprehensive understanding of the intimate details of the different types of reactions.
