A Molecular Graphics and Modelling Society ( MGMS
) International Meeting will take place in
Erlangen, Germany
from September 7th (registration and mixer) - 11th 2009. The meeting will be preceded by the annual
Molecular Modelling Workshop
organised by the Molecular Graphics and Modelling Society - Deutschsprachige Sektion (
MGMS-DS
) from Sunday 6th to Monday, September 7th.
Model(l)ing´09 is also a celebration of
Tim Clark´s 60th birthday.

We hope you had a good time in Erlangen and enjoyed the Meeting, talking to friends and colleagues about science and non-science, etc.
For some of you this was probably the first visit to Germany or to Erlangen, so we hope that you will remember your stay with fond memories.
As a service to all participants and those who were not able to attend the Molecular Modeling Workshop and Model(l)ing'09, you can download the conference booklet and the official conference poster.
A picture gallery with a few impressions will follow soon!
Best wishes,
Tim Clark

Claus-Wilhelm von der Lieth Medal
The Claus-Wilhelm von der Lieth Medal was awarded for the first time at Model(l)ing´09:
|
|
|
From the early days of the Molecular Graphics and Modeling Society, Will von der Lieth was a very active member of the German Section who focused his interests on simulating structure, dynamics, and NMR properties of glycoproteins, developing molecular modeling internet applications, and supporting young scientists working on all aspects of molecular modeling.
In this context, the Medal was awarded to Tim Clark for his outstanding efforts in supporting young researchers and advancing the development of classical and quantum-mechanical simulation techniques.

Dr. Bernd Beck, member of the MGMS-DS board, presents the "Claus-Wilhem-von-der-Lieth Award" to it's first winner, Prof. Dr. Tim Clark
