Erasmus-Sokrates
European Community program in the field of higher Education
The Erasmus-Sokrates Program:
Sokrates is a program of the European Community in the field of Education. The Erasmus-Program as part of Erasmus-Sokrates covers the Higher Education. The most important target of the program is to promote mobility and exchange of students as well as teaching staff among the Member States of the Program (EC-countries plus 13 Associates). Every student of a participating country can apply for a scholarship for a study abroad. The only condition is that there is a cooperation between the department at the Home-University with the foreign university. The cooperations and partnerships are managed by a local Supervisor.

Organisation of your Study at the department of Chemistry in Erlangen:
- Contact your local Erasmus-Supervisor
- Contact (supported by your local Program-Supervisor) the Erasmus Supervisor for the department of Chemistry in Erlangen Prof. Dr. Dirk M. Guldi or Dr. Guido Sauer
- It would be helpful for us if you could tell us about your plans in Erlangen, whether you would like to work in a research project and/or which lectures you would like to follow. Therefore some information about the progress of your study and your qualification is required. In order to properly organize your study in Erlangen it is also important for us to know if you do already speak german and if not which other languages you speak (english, french,...).
- You will then receive the form for Immatriculation
- the form to apply for Accommodation in a Student-Residence (please hand in as soon as possible!!)
- The deadlines for handing in these forms are 15th of January if you want to start your stay abroad in the "Sommersemester" (starting in May) and 15th of July if you want to start your stay in the "Wintersemester" (starting in October)
